Colombia has 9.2 million ha of protected areas covering approximately 8.5% of the land in forty-six areas: there are national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, and reserves. Colombia has one employee for every 40,000 hectares of national park. Armed groups and illegal crops can be found in most of Colombia’s Natural Parks.

Some of Colombia’s parks include:
