Another thirty-two percent of Venezuela&#39;s area falls under some form of protection, largely resource-use monitoring. There are two main government agencies responsible for protected areas: the National Parks Institute and the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources; however, several groups such as the Natural Conservancy have taken on significant roles relating to the country&#39;s environment. Canaimo National Park, Llanos Grasslands and the Southern Caribbean Basin are all noteworthy areas under some form of environmental protection.</p><h3>Related Links</h3> <ul><li><a href=" http://www.nature.org/wherewework/southamerica/venezuela/work/" target="_blank">The Nature Conservancy</a> </li><li><a href="http://www.gng.org/currents/venezuela/ven_eco.html" target="_blank">Global Nomads Group</a> </li><li><a href="http://www.parkswatch.org/main.php?l=eng&amp;p=country&amp;p2=ven" target="_blank">Parkswatch</a> </li><li><a href="http://www.venezuelanalysis.com/articles.php?artno=1758" target="_blank">Venezuelanalysis</a> </li><li><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venezuelan_Ministry_of_Environment_and_Natural_Resources" target="_blank">Wikipedia</a> </li></ul> http://blogs.bcit.ca/catttrax2/south_america/venezuela/protected#comment Tue, 09 Jan 2007 11:07:50 -0800 The Catt-Trax2 Team 219 at http://blogs.bcit.ca/catttrax2
