These stocks are being depleted primarily to make the fish meal that feed farmed fish; that includes farmed fish here in BC and the rest of Canada. In fact, one of Canada&#39;s main imports from Peru is animal feed.</p><p>Poaching, and the illegal harvest of wild species are fueled by the global demand for exotic products.
