Report prepared by Johanna Paradis and Amanda White, students in BCIT’s Fish, Wildlife and Recreation Program.
There are five major natural regions in Colombia:
- The Andean region (three Andean ranges and dividing valleys)
- The Caribbean region (lowland coastal region)
- The Pacific region (lowland coastal region)
- The Orinoquia region (eastern plains)
- The Amazonia region
The Caribbean and Pacific regions are separated by an area of low-lying swamps and marshes along the Panamanian border.
